Project with SRG Partnership | PCC was planning a 100,000 gsf transit-oriented academic building located along the Max line at TriMet’s Willow Creek/SW 185th Transit Center. The existing park & ride site was an under-utilized sea of asphalt, consisting mostly of surface parking with an inefficient bus turnaround / drop off area.
As project architect/designer, I worked with Tri-Met and PCC to envision an efficient and pedestrian-friendly transit hub with an academic building for PCC’s Workforce Training program. Ground level retail, fitness and community space will provide services for commuters, students and faculty. A ‘transit court’ with an outdoor café creates a beautiful, welcoming and safe place for people waiting for transit, studying or just enjoying the sunshine. I created two schemes exploring building and site configurations, and supporting graphics which were used for the bond measure that successfully funded the project.
